ABIA NIGERIA, (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Abia state Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has rescued three children, ages between 10 and 11), from kidnappers den as well as ritualists in Abia state, south East Nigeria.

The victims, two female and one male, whose names were not made known to newsmen for “security reasons”, were rescued within the commercial city of Aba and Obingwa axis of the state through intelligence information.

The State Commandant of the security outfit, Walter Akubiro Chika, who made this known to newsmen on Monday in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, said that the criminal elements often disguised as scavengers at refuse dump sites at Aba and Obi-Ngwa areas of the state to perpetrate their nefarious activities.

“They mesmerized teenagers coming to dump refuse in the areas, tie them with iron binders in an uncompleted building within the areas in anticipation of ransoms from their would-be buyers”.

The Commandant, who spoke through the Command’s Public Relations Officer PRO, Uchenwa Oliver, lamented the high rate of such cases in the state.

He, however, appealed to the public, particularly parents to be vigilant and watchful of their children and wards, particularly when they send them on errands outside their homes

Chika, advised criminals operating in the state to better repent, or be ready to face the music when nabbed.
