Restless Niger Delta Avengers Destroy Multiple Oil Facilities In Delta

DELTA, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Restive Niger Delta Avengers later Monday again struck as they destroyed two trunk lines at Batan community in Warri South Council area of Delta State.

The attacked facilities belong to the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Also touched were two manifolds operated by the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC). Similarly, the unrepentant militants launched a devastating offensive at a Chevron oil well, which is located at Makaraba village of Gbaramatu kingdom. The offensives lasted for almost an hour – between 10.35 and 11.20 pm.

Monday attack brought to second in less than a week after some paramount traditional leaders from Niger Delta region visited President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja under the aegis of Niger Delta Negotiating contact Leaders. Their visit was significantly to douse tension in the region and look into how the activities of the Avengers can stemmed.
