Senate Announces 69 Committee Heads; Adjourns till September 24


(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Nigerian Senate has constituted 69 new standing committees and named their heads.

Those already listed are: Senators Barau Jibrin (Appropriations),  Ali Ndume (Army), Dino Melaye (Aviation), Ibikunle Amosun (Capital Market), Ike Ekweremadu  (Environment), Abubakar Kyari (FCT), Adeola Olamilekan (Finance), Ibrahim Oloriegbe (Health), Sikiru Oshinowo (Industry), Kashim Shettima (Interior),Teslim Folarin  (Local content), Adedayo Adeyeye (Media and Public Affairs).

Also named were Senators Bassey Akpan (Petroleum Resources upstream) and Mathew Urhoghide (Public Accounts)

Meanwhile, the upper Legislative Chamber who also confirmed the 43 screened Ministerial Nominees has adjourned plenary to Tuesday, September  24, 2019.
