The Senate has resolved to throw out the $30 billion external loan being sought by the Federal Government to finance some critical infrastructure in the country.
President Muhammadu Buhari had recently forwarded the request as part of external borrowing plans from 2016 to 2018.
When the issue was introduced to the floor by the Senate Majority Leader, Ali Ndume, the controversial Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye offered to lead the debate, but Senate President Bukola Saraki turned him down.
When Saraki puts the issue to Votes, senators overwhelming rejected the loan request.
