Troops Kill Notorious Boko Haram Terrorist In Borno, Arrest Suspected Kingpin In Yobe

BALTIMORE, MD (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Wednesday informed that the troops in an offensive operation to clear Boko Haram terrorists’ enclave around Kwatarha and Torikwaptir general area of Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State, have killed a notorious Boko Haram terrorist, who had been wrecking havoc on various communities.
DHQ indicated that during the operation which was carried out Monday afternoon, four other terrorists were believed to have escaped with gunshot wounds, while an AK-47 rifle was recovered from the infamous insurgent.
In a related development, Military said troops of 3 Division have arrested a suspected Boko Haram terrorist’s group kingpin, identified as Alhaji Tijjani Usman Damagum.
Damagum, DHQ confirmed was tracked down and arrested at Damagum town, Yobe State Tuesday.
The suspect who has allegedly led Boko Haram members on various deadly attacks especially in Yobe State, is currently undergoing interrogation with a view to prosecute him soon.
