US Comedy Icon, Robin Williams Dies at 63

The death has occurred of the United States (US) comedy icon, Robin Williams.

Wiliams died at the age of 63 in his San Francisco Bay Area home late Monday. The death confirmation was made in his sheriff’s office where the preliminary investigation linked it to suicide due to asphyxia.

The late stage and screen comedy legend had been battling with severe depression according to his media aide, Mara Buxbaum.

In July this year,Williams announced he was returning to a 12-step treatment approach. Earlier, he had gone for medical attention in 2006. The ailment relapsed owing to 20 years of sobriety.
