AFCON 2017: Nigeria, Tanzania Settle For Draw In Dar es Salaam


Tanzania and Nigeria drew 0-0 in their 2017 African Nations Cup qualifying Group G clash at the National Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Both teams lacked cutting edge in the encounter and were unable to create clear goalscoring opportunities as they settled for a point apiece.

Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike had an early chance but he could only head over the crossbar from close range from Ahmed Musa’s cross.

Tanzania came close from a direct free-kick on 20 minutes but Super Eagles goalkeeper Carl Ikeme produced the save to keep out Mbwana Samatta attempt.

Emenike had another sight of goal before half-time when he controlled the ball brilliantly in the area but his shot was blocked by a Tanzania defender.
