Latest News, Sports News Thursday, May 21st, 2015
By Ayo Balogun – Again, another candidate Figo, jostling for the exalted world Football Governing body FIFA Presidency, had pulled out of the contest.
Figo, a 42 year old, ex-Portugal midfielder backed out, the same day another former co-aspirant – 67 year old Van Pragg followed the same suit.
The latest development has now left the Jordanian Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussein, as sole contestant with the incumbent Joseph Blatter.
Blatter has been put on the edge to win a fifth term as the FIFA President.
Figo has reportedly said: “This process is anything but an election. This process is a plebiscite for the delivery of absolute power to one man – something I refuse to go along with.”
