Flying Eagles Win AYC Trophy

By Niyi Adeyi – With a lone goal, the Nigeria Under 20 team – Flying Eagles, Sunday night defeated the host, Senegal, of the 19th Africa Youth Championship (AYC).
Senegal and Nigeria entangled a fortnight in the first round of the groups’ cracker. The Flying Eagles won by 3 – 1.
The Sunday night decisive game was played at the 45,000 capacity, Leopold Sedar Senghor Stadium, with the only goal coming from Bernard Bulbwa in the 19th minutes of the game.
Similarly, Ghana emerged the winner of the third place match up defeating their Malian counterpart by 3-1.
Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana and Mali will represent Africa in the next FIFIA world under 20 world cup.
