Stephen Keshi Denies Rejecting New Offer By The NFF

Stephen Keshi has debunked the report making the round that he rejected the new contract, offered him by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

His agent, Emmanuel Addo according to Global.com, said neither him nor former Super Eagles Coach had made public his position, with regards to the fresh contract.

Addo indicated he was embarrassed when he was called by people and told he confirmed his client, Keshi has rejected contract offered him by the NFF.

He emphasized he had not spoken about Keshi, Super Eagles, and Nigeria Football, said: “I did not speak to the wire agency or anybody. Privately, I’ve spoken to my friends, but our position which, because of what has happened; I will come out with something now”.

The agent also pointed out that the lawyer was studying the contract offer, indicating that it was a draft (an offer), hence, would reach out to the NFF adding that the talk might not be different from what happened the first time he came during the brief tenure of Chief Mike Umeh as the NFF head, when efforts were on for renewal of contract extension.

“We had negotiation, if it’s different, then we will do what they are saying, but not until we negotiate and then there is no give and take. We will shake hands and walk away, because there is a tomorrow…” Addo specified.

Talks about new contract for Keshi which appears suspended for some months ago, reopened barely a week when the 2013 AFCON winner narrowly missed a coaching career with the Burkina Faso National team.
