Tottenham Sack Andre Villas-Boas

After suffering its worst home defeat in 16 years losing 5-0 to Liverpool, Tottenham have sacked manager Andre Villas-Boas.

The club’s statement  says:

 “The club can announce that agreement has been reached with head coach Andre Villas-Boas for the termination of his services.

“The decision was by mutual consent and in the interests of all parties.

“We wish Andre well for the future and we shall make a further announcement in due course.”

The club sold Gareth Bale last summer to Real Madrid for a world record £85.3m and used the money to buy Paulinho, Roberto Soldado, Nacer Chadli, Etienne Capoue, Christian Eriksen, Vlad Chiriches and Erik Lamela.

The recruits have not paid off for the club as they struggle to win matches and unable to stay in comfortable position in the premiership league table.
