Angry Mob Beats Child Thief To Death In Imo

FROM IGNATIUS OKPARA, Owerri – Angry mob has beaten to death a woman alleged to have stolen a baby in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

Before she gave up the ghost, the mob had stripped her naked.

African Examiner gathered that Nemesis caught up with the victim, simply identified as Chioma, while trying to steal a baby boy at the Ogugba Park, in Owerri.

However, our Correspondent learnt that before the angry mob clubbed her to death, she pleaded for forgiveness, saying she was the only daughter of her parents and hailed from Obudi Agwa in Oguta council area of the state.

She told the mob that she resides at Ogbaku in Mbaitoli local government area of the state.

An eyewitness who identified her self simply as Nnenna, claimed that “the lady carefully took the little boy from where his mother laid him”.

“The angry mob was not prepared to listen to those that wanted her to be handed over to the police for proper investigation.

“Barely a few minutes after stripping her naked, the mob descended on her and the rest became history” the source said.

Mother of the rescued baby, who do not want her name in print, had thanked God for saving her family from the agony that would have befallen them.

She expressed appreciation to those who caught the child thief early enough and stopped her from moving away with the innocent child.
