Worried by the general insecurity, overheating of the polity by politicians, youths restiveness, crises in the education sector, and mass unemployment, Nollywood Actors have concluded plans to stage what appears to be a pro-government rally across all the geo-political zone of the country.
During the rally, the stars will demand quick resolution of the crises rocking the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to enable President Jonathan’s government get more focused on his transformation agenda.
The Nollywood actors further disclosed that football players like Celestine Babayaro, and top Musicians in the likes of 2-Face Idibia had enlisted in the Youths Agenda for Peace In Nigeria that would be helpful in mobilising the stars in their respective areas of endeavor to support the planned rally.
Not happy with the Boko Haram insurgency, the stars vowed to stage a rally in Maiduguri with a view of sensitizing the youths of the zone on the need to shun terrorism and embrace peace.
To ensure the success of the rally, the Nollywood actors led by Emeka Ike, on Saturday at a meeting in Abuja sought the blessing and backing of the chairman of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Alh. Bamanga Tukur.
In his response, Alh Tukur was happy that the Nollywood stars are championing the cause of peace and national reconciliation in the country even as he urged other Nigerian youths to mobilise in support of the rally.
