UCL Semi – Final Draw {Full List}

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – In the last 16 several big-hitters were knocked out of the competition including Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham.

Now we have been left with a real mixture of teams with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Man City and Chelsea perennial quarter-final contenders.

Napoli are one of the favorites to win the competition, yet this is the first time they have reached the final eight in their history!

It is a welcome sight to see AC Milan and Inter Milan back at this phase of the competition after long spells away, while Benfica have reached the quarter-finals for the second year in a row.

The question though is can anyone knock Real Madrid off their perch?

So for the second season in a row, Chelsea will face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals with the first-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

On the other side of the draw, Napoli fans will be delighted!

This is the first time they have reached the quarter-finals, and they’ve got a real chance of making the final for the first time!

If they can get past AC Milan, then they will face the winners of Inter Milan vs Benfica. So they are on the same side of the draw as the three teams with on paper the least amount of chance of winning the competition.

However both Milan clubs and Benfica will also see this as a golden opportunity to defy the odds and make the final in Istanbul.

It will be the first time that we’ve seen Man City vs Bayern Munich since the group stage back in 2014! Guardiola’s side are the favorites to win the competition but that is about as awkward a draw as it could get for City.

If they both advance, then we could see City v Chelsea in the semi-finals – a repeat of the 2021 final.

FULL DRAW:

AC Milan/Napoli vs Inter Milan/Benfica

Real Madrid/Chelsea vs Manchester City/Bayern Munich

The quarter-final fixtures will take place in April, while the semi-final fixtures will take place in May
