Ayodele Afolabi, Abuja – The Federal Capital Authority has spent a whooping N 750 Million to supervise the installation of traffic lights donated by the Chinese Government.
The African Examiner online learnt that the Chinese Government donated the traffic lights for the areas not covered in FCT before free of charge.
Our source however disclosed that the project was deliberately delayed so as to use it to siphone fund under the guise of a government sponsored project.
“As soon as Jonathan lost the election, the traffic lights have suddenly sprung up in notable places in FCT to avoid suspicion and protest from Chinese government.
However, checks revealed that the FCT authority claimed to have spent N750 million to supervise the project even without purchasing a single bulb.
A staff of the FCT who pleaded anonymity said that the sleaze concerning the particular project was inconsequential compare to the fraud rocking the FCT administration.
Some of the traffic lights can be spotted at Jabi, Utako, Maitama, Asokoro and the Central Business District in Abuja.
