Boko Haram: Explosion Rocks Popular Market In BornoFeatured, Latest News Thursday, February 12th, 2015
From Mustapha Abdul Salaam – A congested weekly market in Biu, Borno State, North Eastern Nigeria has been attacked by a deadly bomb explosion.
Witnesses in the town revealed to AFRICAN EXAMINER that many were killed in the blast, while several others were seriously injured. No one has claimed responsibility yet.
Eyewitnesses confirmed to our Correspondent that the rescue workers have conveyed the dead and injured to the hospital.
Biu attack occurred barely 24 hours after President Goodluck Jonathan Wednesday Media Chat’s confirmation over presence of the Multinational Military Task Force to from Cameroon, Chad and Niger to confront and wipe out Boko Haram insurgents in the North Eastern part of the country.
Similarly, it took place almost a month after bloody exchanges between the Military and the terrorists, in which the latter suffered more casualties.
President Jonathan admitted yesterday during his Media Chat that checking the Boko Haram excesses in 10 local government areas of Borno State would take more time, compare to Adamawa and Yobe States, where he assured would be less tasking.
