From Mustapha Abdul Salaam – Former External Affairs Minister and Senate Majority Leader, Jonathan Zwingina and ex – Ondo State PDP Governorship candidate, Mr. Olusola Oke have dumped the ruling party for the leading opposition APC.
While Zwingina defected Wednesday with the PDP Chieftains like serving Senators, Bello Tukur, Ahmed Barata and Sadiq Haske, Oke cross carpeted with Mr. Albert Akintoye and other high ranked stalwarts of the PDP in Ondo State. Recall, the State’s Deputy Governor, Alhaji Alli Olanusi defected to the APC about a week to Saturday, March 28, 2015 Presidential and NASS elections.
Senator Zwingina who announced his defection and his colleagues in Yola, the Adamawa State capital disclosed that the reason for their decision was to pitch tent with the APC and drum support for the opposition Governorship candidate, Senator Jibrilla Bindow in this Saturday poll.
The latest defection followed the Jigawa State Deputy Governor’s, Alhaji Ahmad Mahmud on Monday, aside others in the Northern and Southern part of the country, after formal declaration last Wednesday, as the winner, the APC Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd).
