New Mobile Application, MallforAfrica App Debuts in Nigeria

The revolution in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has taken yet another interesting dimension as a new lifestyle mobile applicationMallforAfrica.com debut. The newest application has been ranked the third highest lifestyle App on the Apple App Store, making it the peak mobile application the firm ever targeted at African audience.

MallforAfrica App is an online mall presently competing with over 80 of the top US similar brands in the world, among of which are: Amazon, Carters, Payless, Macy’s and Walmart. The household UK brands and which are common among Africans include: Marks and Spencer, Next, Zara, Selfridges and T.M. Lewin which is also available in the online mall.

Messrs Chris and Tope Folayan, both Silicon Valley entrepreneurs, said the mobile application was founded to address challenges Africans encounter on buying products from outside the continent explains. “We strategically launched the App on the Android and Windows platforms first, because these platforms, particularly the Android…has the higher number of users within the continent and especially in Nigeria, which is the first market we are targeting…” explained the mobile application experts. They added that, since Apple devices have become more popular, we have had to expedite the launch of the App on Apple App platform and so far pleased with feedback from the users.

In recent times, MallforAfrica has been competing among the leading e-commerce sites in the African continent and it is rising both in terms of its customer base and physical footprint in Nigeria.

Tope Folayan pointed out, “What makes us different from other e-commerce sites is the fact that we also have physical locations close to our customers where they can pick up their products ordered from the major brands that are in our mall”.

Meanwhile, it has estimated that the newApp offers shoppers access to over 8 billion items, across the 80 stores in the online mall. This makes the mall’s inventory larger than all the physical malls in Nigeria. And like other related applications, Mall for Africa app download is also available for Windows, iOS and Android devices in their respective App Stores.
