The Plateau State Secretariat of the PDP has been sealed by police, even as the party’s stakeholders meeting is ongoing at the presidential lodge in Rayfield, Jos.
The meeting is being chaired by the Deputy Governor of the State, Mr. Ignatius Longjan.
Also in attendance are the speaker of the House of Assembly, principal officers of the House, national assembly members among others.
However, the party Chairman Dr. Haruna Dabin was not at the meeting.
Reacting to the meeting, Dr. Dabin said, “I was not invited for the meeting, I only heard it on radio”.
According to him, “We were hoping to hold the State Working Committee meeting in the office this morning but my staff called me that the Police came in with an order to seal the office and they were asked to go home.
“The illegal meeting that they are holding now can only produce illegal result. Whatever decision they take there is not binding because the meeting is illegal”.
Efforts to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Dominic Esin, was not possible as he was not even picking his calls.
Details to come.
