(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Prominent critics of the administration of President Buhari have again used the opportunity of the doves not flying during the Armed Forces Remembrance Day to criticise the government.

African Examiner writes that President Buahri had released the doves as known as white Pigeons during the event but the birds just won’t fly.

The president, after he released one dove and the dove refused to fly had to open the cage entirely so that all the birds could fly out but again, they still remained on top of the cage roof.

An exhausted president left the birds and returned to his seat and few moments later.

African Examiner writes that the Vatican in 2014 stopped the practice of releasing birds because of an incident where it took great effort in the presence of spectators that the birds refused to fly.

Also, during the administration of President Jonathan the doves also refused to fly and popular clergy, Father Mbaka, had predicted that God has abandoned the administration of the former President.

Just as Fr Mbaka had interpreted the situation concerning the refusal of the dove to fly in the former administration, some Nigerians have also made their own interpretation saying that it is a “sign of bad omen”.

African Examiner brings some of their views:

Reno Omokri@renoomokri writes: “Retweet this if you agree that #Buhari can’t kill #EndSARS protesters at #LekkiMassacre and expect his doves of peace to fly. Ko le work. Soro s’oke doves, Soro s’oke! “

Oby Ezekwesili @obyezeks writes: “The pigeons will at least not be attacked for their effective civic disobedience. They will also not be told by scoundrels of patriotism to relocate just because they pointed out evident facts of Bad Governance in their country. Thank God for small mercies. “

Chuba Ezekwesili @ChubaEzeks writes: “Man. This life is a whole movie! MC: These pigeons fly high symbolizing harmony and peace Pigeons: Y’all didn’t feed us enough for this lie.”

Arákùnrin Àlàó Aríṣekọ́lá@Great_Kamil writes: “*Buhari to the pigeons* Fly or go to jail The pigeons: Wo. We die here.”

SEGA L’éveilleur®@segalink writes: “How dare the recalcitrant Pigeons?! Opposition parties must be held liable for this failure to launch in the spirit of peace. Apologies Mr President, don’t mind them. The pigeons must be investigated and their collaborators

Duke of Ibadan @AsiwajuLerry writes: “Someone said the Pigeons didn’t fly cos they know SARS might be shooting in the air sporadically.”

Rinu #EndSARS@SavvyRinu writes: “Hoodlums disguised as Pigeons>>>> E choke.”

Morris Monye@Morris_Monye writes: “I guarantee you… If it was possible, the DSS would arrest the pigeons for such an affront on the President. But really, is there peace, harmony and security in the land? And totally unrelated, Channels TV is fake news.”
