Senate Urges NFA To Sack Vogts
By Our Correspondent
Published: February 6, 2008

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Heineken
Lokpobiri, has called on the Nigeria Football Association (NFA)
to sack Super Eagles’ coach, Berti Vogt following Nigeria
poor performance at the African Nations Cup, Ghana 2008.

According to the senator “The man has brought shame to
Nigeria with his game plan especially in the second half, when
he had all the opportunity to wrap up the game, with Ghana
playing one man short. He should go and let us plan for the
future of the game,"

Lokpobiri said the coach should honorably resign from the job
and admit his ineptitude adding that his (Vogts) game plans
and inability to make good substitutions cost Nigeria dearly.

He urged NFA’s chairman and the Minister of Sports to listen
to the call for the sack of Vogts in order to save Nigerian
football
