Nigeria U-20 Female football Team, Others Escape Death

Another national tragedy was averted as a plane from Port Harcourt to Douala with over 100
passengers and crew member
s aboard made an emergency landing as the plane developed a
system fault.
shortly after take off.

Members of Nigeria National U-20 female football team aboard the plane on their way to
Cameroon to honour the return leg of the U-20 world cup qualifying games.


Reports say the pilot used his experience to land the plane safely after alerting the Port
Harcourt towers to prepare fire fighters and ambulances ready in case he could not make it.

The plane was said to have been engulfed with thick smoke as passengers hurriedly jumped
down thinking the plane might explode. Some passengers was said to have sustained minor
bruises due to apprehension.
