Bayelsa Civil Servants, Pensioners Get October Salaries

Despite the terrible shortfall and the delay in the holding of the monthly federation Accounts Allocation Committee, FAAC meeting, the Bayelsa State Government has commenced the payment of salaries of civil servants and pensioners in the State.

This is in keeping with the pledge and resolve of the Restoration Government to ensure the payment of salaries of workers as and when due.

A Government House statement restated the administration’s commitment to the welfare and well being of its work force and the people of the State, stressing that, the Governor Seriake Dickson will not renege on his policy of not playing politics with the development of the State in all its ramifications.

The statement called on civil servants in the State to be mindful of the antics of the opposition, who play politics with everything, even when the facts are clear that, the entire country is going through very difficult times, with the Federal and several State Governments owing salaries of workers for upwards of five to six months.

The statement reminded Bayelsans of the period between 2007 and 2011, when the APC governorship candidate was in power, pointing out that, it failed to meet the pension obligations of retirees and the workers, even as the economy of the State was buoyant at the time.
