Ebonyi Governor Orders Fulani Herdsmen To Vacate State’s University Premises To Avoid Reprisal

EBONYI, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – As the controversy over the deadly attacks by suspected Fulani herdsmen rages across the country, Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, has ordered herdsmen to vacate premises of the State’s University.
Governor Umahi made the directive in Abakaliki, the State capital, during Agriculture Summit organized by the State. He subsequently directed the State’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Peace Ibekwe Abdallah to carry out the order.
Despite his order, the South East Governor discourged reprisal aginst Fulani herdsmen in the entire South-Eeast zone, as a revenge for the killing last Monday, of over 30 people in Ukpabi Nimbo, Uzouwani Local Council area of Enugu State by the suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Governor Umahi recalled despite his condemnation of the bloody attack, he appreciated Hausa Fulani community long history of peaceful co-existence in the State.
