Kayode Adelowokan, Lagos

Reactions continued to trail the latest Yanya bombing, the Minister of Police Affairs, Alhaji Abdul Jelili Adesiyan, described the act as unfortunate, callous and ungodly.

The minister, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Wale Akinola, vowed that the Federal Government would not rest on its oars until the issue of terrorism and senseless killing of innocent souls are nipped in the bud.

According to the statement, “The aim of these useless terrorists is to create fear, discredit government and make entire citizenry to live in perpectual anxiety and turn them against the ruling government. If we unite and fight them by staying focused and reporting all suspicious people to security agencies, we will win this war.

“It is very sad and disheartening that scores of people were killed on Thursday in a bomb explosion that also rocked Nyanya area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja,” the minister said, adding that he received the news with utmost shock.

“People should stop killing others in the name of God; because Allaah does not permit killing neither does He encourage bloodletting as being canvassed by the Boko Haram agents.

“Whoever kills fellow human being will have the wrath of God as He frowns on unjust shedding of innocent blood.”

The minister maintained that the incident would not deter the Federal Government from its determination to overcome those who did not mean well for the nation.

He maintained that the country could no longer afford to allow this incident to continue, adding that the Federal Government would soon overcome the security challenges in the country.
