The position is currently being occupied by Lady Margery Okadigbo, wife of former president of Nigeria senate, late Dr. Chuba Okadigbo, from Oyi council area of Anambra state.

African Examiner gathered that Oduah, picked the PDP senatorial form over the weekend in Abuja, after months of intense pressure from stakeholders in the Senatorial zone.

Our correspondent recalled that some time last month, a group under the aegis of Anambra North Development Forum, had during a forum in Onitsha, decried lack of quality representation of the zone in the National Assembly NASS and resolved to send a delegation to Oduah to vie for the Senatorial seat in the 2015 election.

It was learnt that since after the delegation visited the ex- minister, who hails from Ogbaru area of the state, she has been holding intense consultations with major political stakeholders in the zone.

Some PDP chieftains in the zone who reacted to the development described it as wonderful.

Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, a one time Chairman of the PDP in the state, said it is a positive idea and sign of political and economic renaissance for the people of Anambra North senatorial zone.

He said the move to give the people of Anambra North quality representation via Oduah, is hope rekindled for the people who have been suffering for a long time.

The PDP chieftain however, called on the party leadership and the people of Anambra North to give room for equity by allowing Oduah from Ogbaru bloc to clinch the party ticket and also work for her victory at the polls so as to achieve the second desire of the people having produced the governor during the last election in the state.
