Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Babangida Aliyu has backed out of the merger with All Progressive Congress (APC) insisting he remains a member of PDP.
Governor Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo disclosed this shortly after the merger was announced in Abuja.
His words: “the news in the media that Governor Babangida has moved to APC is untrue, unfounded. Talks are ongoing with the President. Governor Babangida Aliyu remains a member of PDP.
“We are shocked about the announcement of the merger even before conclusion of the meeting with the President. That is why Gov Babangida was not present at the meeting.”
