Family Debunks Ekwueme’s Death Rumour

ENUGU, NIGERIA (AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Contrary to the rumour which was spread Tuesday morning, an official of Memfys Neuro-surgical Hospital, Enugu has confirmed that the ailing former Vice- President, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, is still alive, stable and responding to treatment.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari recently approved request to fly Dr. Ekwueme abroad for a better medical treatment after he is medically. The former vice-president was admitted into the hospital for a chest infection.
The official confirmed further that the ex-number two citizen was receiving the best attention from the hospital.
He maintained that though the hospital would not give out information about its patients, “the rumour that he is dead is false.”
“He is recovering and doing well. People should not spread false information. The family members are always here,” the official said.
