Nigerian Columnist, Pius Adesanmi Dies in Ethiopian Airline Crash

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – A popular political columnist, Prof. Pius Adesanmi, has been confirmed to be among the 157 persons that died in the Ethiopian Airline which crashed Sunday.
Report said Prof Adesanmi who until his death was a Director at the Institute of African Studies at Carleton University, Canada, posted a message on his Facebook wall.
The post read: “If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me – Psalm 139:9-10.”
The plane, which was bound for Nairobi, Kenya, went down in the early hours of Sunday.
The manifest of the plane listed 1 Nigerian; 18 Canadians, 32 Kenyans, 9 Ethiopians, 8 Chinese, 8 Italians, 8 Americans, 7 French, 7 Britons, 6 Egyptians, 5 Germans, 4 Indians, 4 Slovaks, 3 Australians and others.
The late columnist was a Professor of English.
