(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Following Tuesday’s suspension of the industrial action embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC in Imo state which has paralyzed economic and social activities, as well as threw the state into total black, the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company EEDC, has directed it’s Staffers to return to their duty posts and commence normal operations.
African Examiner reports that an understanding was reached yesterday (Tuesday) between the governor Hope y led Imo State government and the (NLC) to suspend the industrial action in the State.
However, the State government was given two weeks to harmonize and implement all issues raised by the Labour Union.
A statement made available to African Examiner by EEDC Spokesman, Emeka Ezeh Wednesday in Enugu said “as a result, the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has been informed by the Labour Union to restore supply immediately to enable the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) distribute power to its customers.
“All staff of EEDC are expected to immediately resume normal duties at their respective districts in Imo State” Ezeh stated.
