Reno Omokri Challenges Tinubu , Sanusi To Speak Up On Zamfara Abduction

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Reno Omokri, former presidential aide to  Goodluck Jonathan, has charged former Lagos State governor, Bola Tinubu and former Central Bank Governor, Lamido Sanusi to speak up concerning the abduction of the Zamfara school girls  just like they did during the abduction of Chibok girls which happened during the era of Goodluck Jonathan.

It recalls that Boko Haram insurgents in April 2014 had abducted 276 girls from a secondary school in the town of Chibok.

This development became a problem for the Jonathan led administration as the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress (APC)  accused  the presidency for lacking the capacity to secure Nigerians.

Prominent Nigerians like Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Sanusi and even former American First Lady, Michelle Obama, were seen carrying placards with the hashtag #BringBackOurGirls.

Also, former Education minister, Dr Oby Ezekwesili and popular activist, Aisha Yesufu, merged to form the #Bring Back Our Girls group and many political commentators could attest to the fact that these demonstrations prevented the second term bid of Goodluck Jonathan.

President Buhari  was elected because many felt that he would do better regarding insecurity in the country, however, the issue of banditry particularly in the north has become a disturbing issue as just last week bandits had invaded a school in  Kagara in Niger state and abducted 27 school boys. The boys are yet to be found when on Friday another 317 school girls in Zamfara were abducted.

Reacting, Reno Omokri took to his Facebook page sharing a picture of former Central Bank Governor, Sanusi and Tinubu demanding for  the release of the girls and Reno wondered why the duo are silent about the recent abduction in the country.

Reno wrote: “Here is  Sanusi  championing #BringBackOurGirls under Goodluck Jonathan.”

The former presidential aide was surprised why they can’t do the same now under President Buhari as there have been a series of abductions like the Dapchi girls,  Kagara students, Jangebe students and others.

His comment sparked media attention and The African Examiner gathers some of them below:

Amos wrote: “That’s when you have  leaders who are guided by emotion, religion and tribe.

Oladeji Ibraheem Akintayo wrote: “These people cannot stage any protests they brought these calamities to Nigeria’ Had it been we have vibrant opposition party they should start and citizen will support them,it is only on media they condemn, they should now stage a big protest, they are useless.

Rumen Wisdom Igbinosa wrote: “Pity is when ordinary Nigerians are making excuses for these people.

Timothy Oyinloye wrote: “Sir, with due respect, you miss this one. How many PDP members spoke against GEJ when certain things went wrong under his watch?

Now that the failure of GEJ paved way for the man that put the country on auto-pilot, APC card carrying members will never speak against him.

The problem of members of major opposition party in Nigeria today is when they were in power, many of them ate DODO (fried plantain ) and they cannot say ODODO (the truth) now.”

Fasoranti Omobolanle Olayemi wrote: “Mr Reno, i expect you to do more. Tinubu and the likes could engage in this because they were in the opposition when Jonathan was ruling. It behooves Opposition Members to decry unfulfilled promises by the ruling party and if they lost their voice,   you can’t expect members of the ruling party to be the voice the opposition lost. You were part of GEJ government, are you saying it was everything the government of GEJ did that was right? Where was your voice of criticism when the government you served in was failing?

Comr Williams Egbonimale wrote: “Only in Nigeria u hear one Nigeria that divides, means we are not one because I have never heard Ghana saying one Ghana or Germany saying one Germany so why will u say one Nigeria that means we are being forced by that statement to feel we are one, brothers are not told they are brothers every now and then.

Ishaq Abdulmaleek wrote: “Hmhmhm, that’s what the Bible thought you, Its   pay  back  time, the little knowledge gathered from your Gospel does not impacts in you to forgive others. All of us are just hanging title of Iman & Pastor we can’t demonstrate it in public.”

Okoroafor Justice wrote: “The late night money collector (Oby Ezekwesili) who initiated it is also silent. Madam due process  my  foot.”

Ebere Dickson Olejeme wrote:  “In as much as I despise this regime, @ Reno omokri how many PDP under Jonathan protested bring back our girls?  It’s APC time you don’t expect the APCs to go against Buhari protesting?? It’s all about politics.”

Chibuike Chinevu wrote: “You shouldn’t wonder why sir. We all know that its  politics, just as Jonathan’s caucus never chanted the #BringBackOurGirls back then. In the same way, Buhari’s men are quiet now.”
