Nigeria Signs New Power Generation Deal; To Generate 700 Mega Watt

The Nigerian and a Brazilian Power companies have signed a working agreement expected to increase electricity generation in the country to 700 mega watts.
The Minister of Power, Professor Chinedu Nebo said on weekend at the formal signing ceremony in Abuja, that the development was part of President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda to uplift the social – economic status of the country through power sector.
The Brazilian Energy company head, Rodrigo Badin stated the firm would invest the sum of $900 Million on the company’s first power plant in Nigeria, stating that it would be sited in Bayelsa State, South South, Nigeria.
