Over 2,000 PDP, APGA, PDC Members Defect To APC In Enugu

Over 2,000 members of the peoples Democratic party PDP and other political parties defected to the ruling All Progressive Congress APC in Isi- Uzo council area of Enugu state.

Apart from the defectors, the party also officially admitted over 500 new members into its fold, including a retired Deputy Controller- General of the Customs, Mr. Tony Mbah.

Receiving the decampee/new members at the Isi- Uzo local government secretariat of the APC, state chairman of the party, Dr. Ben Nwoye, applauded them for their courage and wise decision, stressing that APC remains an ideal political platform for progressives.

While assuring all members, both old and new of equal opportunities at all time, Nwoye, emphasised that APC, would continue to make internal democracy and discipline its watch word, especially under the watch of president Mohammadu Buhari.

The chairman, who was accompanied by the south- east publicity secretary of the party, Hon. Hycienth Ngwu, and other stakeholders,in the state, had commended the Isi- Uzo chairman of APC, Engr. Titus Nnamani, for his aggressive mobilisation, and marketing of the party in the entire locality.

He, however, urged the people to keep faith with the president Buhari APC led administration, adding that the party will not fail Nigerians, saying the federal government is working tirelessly towards ameliorating the present economic hardship being faced by the citizens.

Nwoye said: “Today our great party APC has an appointment with history in Isi- Uzo, today, all progressives from the eleven political wards in the LGA have gathered to join forces and bring the desired change in this council area”

“Today,we have progressives from PDP, PDC APGA, and others joining hands with all progressives from APC with one purpose in mind,and that is to uplift the people of Isi- Uzo, so we celebrate you today for standing up to be counted as progressives, even when it is not fashionable to be so identified”

In his brief speech the ex- deputy Controller General of Customs, Mr. Mbah, told the APC leaders that he decided to pitch tent with the party because of its, change mantra manifesto and credibility of President Buhari.

He said he is pleased to identify with the party, calling on other progressives in the locality, state, and country in general to embrace platform.
