Plateau United Are One Game Away from Premier League Return

Agabus Pwanagba, Jos – Nigeria National League side Plateau United Football Club of Jos, are only 90 minutes to gaining promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football league.

The Jos base side beat Kogi United 1-0, on Saturday evening at the Rwang Pam Township stadium in Jos, with the goal scored by John Kim, as early as the 2nd minute, the State Capital to move closer to gaining promotion into the Nigeria premier league.

Speaking with our correspondent, the Media Officer of the team, Albert Dakup said, after the game that Plateau Utd FC of Jos are a game away from playing in the nation’s premier league next season.

Dakup said, “After their week 13 fixture of the league they are still topping the table with 26 points and a massive plus 16 goals difference, the highest so far in the entire 4 groups of the Nigeria National League abridge season.

He added, “Plateau Utd FC only need Kogi Utd to do them a favour by beating Adamawa Utd of Yola next week Wednesday in Lokoja in a rescheduled week 12 to confirm their place as any result in the last match wil be merely an academic exercise.

“One good thing that is going well for our team is their massive goal difference and in the event Adamawa tie with our team on points, we have the advantage of goals and i won’t see them scoring 17 goals in one match to see them progressing”. He stressed.

However, Kogi Utd during the game showed a lot of promises in the later stages of the first half. But the tin city lads stepped up their game in the second half with Kogi United goalkeeper making some brilliant saves to keep the scoreline at 1-0.
