Seyi Law Speaks On ‘Yoruba For Yoruba Jobs’

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Nigerian comedian, Oluwaseyitan Aletile, aka Seyi Law, has reacted to the ongoing ‘Yoruba for Yoruba jobs’ protest in Southwest states.

The African Examiner writes that Tonia Somaga, a graduate from Anambra State and a Labour Party, LP, a supporter who drives one of the Lagos State blue rails, was slammed by some residents, who enjoined the Lagos State government to sack her, because of her campaign for Peter Obi.

Reacting to the development in a tweet on Thursday, Seyi Law stated that the female train driver is an opportunity to preach peace and buttress that the All Progressives Congress, APC, is different.

Uploading a picture of a man with a ‘Yoruba Jobs for Yoruba People’ poster, Seyi Law refer to the trend as “absolute madness” saying that he didn’t support the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to see such a trend.

He wrote: “This is absolute madness. I did not support ASIWAJU to see these things. Are you saying even the companies owned by non-Yoruba should do the same or just those owned by Yorubas? Either way, this is wrong, so let’s stop promoting rubbish in the name of anger.

“The train girl was an opportunity to preach peace and show we are different. I’m not belittling your anger, but we must learn to compromise for the collective peace we crave. You can respect your tribe without denigrating another. Please, let’s sheath our swords.

“These attitudes give bad names to good ideas. We must do what’s right to say we deserve more. Please, I believe we can do better. Things are tending in a direction I don’t appreciate. This doesn’t in any way dim my support for the good I believe ASIWAJU will bring. Thanks.”
