WAFCON 2024: South Africa Coach Speaks On Super Falcons clash

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The head coach of Banyana Banyana of South Africa, Desiree Ellis, has expressed concern about the team’s preparation for their 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final clash with the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

South Africa, who are the defending champions, defeated Senegal 4-1 on penalties in a thrilling quarter-final contest on Saturday night after the game ended 0-0 after 120 minutes of intense action.

South Africa will have just one day less to get ready for the clash with Nigeria’s Super Falcons, who played against the Copper Queens of Zambia on Friday

According to Ellis, her players may not have enough time to recover for the game against Nigeria.

“We are going to prepare because 120 minutes with a day less to prepare and a day to travel takes a lot,” Ellis had stated in a press interview.

The African Examiner writes that the Super Falcons of Nigeria will slug it out with Banyana Banyana of South Africa in the semi-final match that will be played on Tuesday. The winner of the match will proceed to the final and face either the Black Queens of Ghana or the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco.
