Registration: Ex-Senate President, Nnamani Wants South East To Embrace APC

(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – Former president of Nigeria Senate, Senator Ken Nnamani, has revalidated his membership of the ruling All progressive Congress APC, calling on people of South East Nigeria to use the ongoing exercise to embrace the party enmass

The ex- Senate boss, who is the member of the party’s national Caretaker Committee representing South East geo political zone, said the registration exercise has offered the people of Enugu state and entire zone the opportunity of belonging to the mainstream of Nigeria’s politics.

Speaking Thursday shortly after revalidating his membership of the party, at his 007 polling unit Amechi ward (2) in Enugu South Council area of Enugu state, the APC stalwart, advised people of the Southeast to embrace the ruling party to enable them participate at the center.

He however, applauded the Enugu state Caretaker Committee Chairman of APC, Dr. Ben Nwoye, for playing a vital role in reconciling all warring factions of the party in the state.

He expressed delight that at last, peace has returned to the Enugu state chapter of the party.

African Examiner reports that Nnamani, revalidated his membership in the presence of the chairman of the registration and revalidation panel in charge of Enugu State, Senator Jonathan Zwingina, Enugu State caretaker committee chairman of the party, Dr. Ben Nwoye, Nigeria’s Ambassador designate to Poland, Gen. Chris Ngwu (Rtd), among other Chieftains

The former lawmaker had described the APC as a party that has been responsible for the growth, solidarity and progress of Nigeria nation.

He noted that the APC is the only party that will provide the needed platform for the people of the Southeast geo political zone to participate in the center and not just to participate only at the states in the zone.

Nnamani said: “I have revalidated my membership of the APC, I call on our people from 18 years and above to find time and register with the APC. The party is responsible for the growth, solidarity and progress of Nigeria” he stated

The State Caretaker Committee Chairman, Dr. Nwoye, had earlier in his speech said with the ongoing registration / revalidation exercise, the APC was preparing the structure to take over the 5 states of Southeast geo political zone of Abia, Anambra, Imo, Ebonyi, and Enugu, in 2023.

he Chairman, therefore, enjoined the people of the state and South East to take advantage of the registration and make the APC a household name in the zone.

According to Nwoye, APC remains the party to beat in 2023 general election, stressing that the party has all it takes to remain in power beyond 2023.

Senator Zwingina, in his brief remarks, expressed satisfaction with the manner members of the APC conducted themselves during the distribution of the registration materials, noting that the the exercise was a huge success as no case of missing forms or register.
