(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, says it received the passing of the country’s immediate past President, retired Gen. Muhammadu Buhari in a London hospital on Sunday with shock.
The apex Igbo socio- cultural organisation in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ezechi Chukwu, on Monday, said Buhari served Nigeria in different capacities.
According to the group, Buhari was a former military head of state, executive chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund and a two term democratically elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 2015 to 2023, among others.
They described Buhari as a leader who contributed his quota to the Nigerian project at different times when duty called.
Ohaneze further stated that the history of the country would be incomplete without Buhari.
Ohaneze enjoined Nigerians to pray for the repose of his soul, while praying that God almighty grant his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear this heavy loss,” Chukwu said. (NAN)
