(AFRICAN EXAMINER) – The Ogun State Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has mourned the death of a former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Sen Jubril Martins-Kuye.
The PDP in a statement by its Ogun State Chairman, Sikirulai Ogundele, on Sunday stated that the death of the former minister was a “devastating blow below the belt for the party”.
The statement reads, “We are consoled by the irreducible facts that our dear leader lived a worthy life of quality service to his immediate community, Ogun State and Nigeria as a federal minister on two different occasions.
“Without a doubt, this is a huge loss to the entire political class both in Ogun State and the nation at large.
“The party extends warm soothing words of condolences to the Kuye family, all party men, the people of Ogun state and associates across the country.
“We pray that the Almighty Allah, in His infinite mercies, accepts the elder statesman’s soul and give the family and the nation required fortitude to bear this loss.”
African Examiner writes that the former Minister’s body was buried on Sunday.
